WNCA Coordinator
Hi! I’m Jane Haskins, and I’m the Worthing Neighbourhood Care Alliance Coordinator.
I have worked in the voluntary sector for over 20 years, previously as an Administrator/Finance Officer and more recently managing a voluntary organisation.
It’s my job to make sure the Alliance meets regularly and is effective for the groups it works for. I’m ably assisted by an Administrator, Jane Glynn.
I service the Steering Group, which provides overall governance for WNCA and its staff resource.
Identifying need
I wrote a paper on the gaps in older people’s services in our town. The Steering Group has prioritised these gaps and I work with the WNCA staff team to see that we fill them – by extending existing services or creating new ones – during the course of the next year.
To this end, I coordinate a team of 4 Community Engagement Workers, and work closely with the other WNCA staff – our Business Development Officer, Community Fundraiser and Publicity Officer.
I also help the Older People’s Reference Group to play its important scrutiny and advice role.
