Photo of men talkingWorthing Older People’s Reference Group is made up of a range of older people reflecting the local population. Its job is to inform the work of the Neighbourhood Care Alliance, Community Partnership Team and any other local group or statutory body providing services to older people.

Already it has given its approval to the recently published Gaps Report on services and groups in Worthing, and discussed such issues as Intergenerational Playgrounds and the hot potato of what time older people should be able to use their free bus pass in the mornings.

It meets 6 times a year, usually for about 2 hours, with refreshments provided. Travel costs are reimbursed for those who have difficulty accessing transport. Help the Aged has assisted us with setting up the group.

What’s your view?

We are always looking for more people to join the Older People’s Reference Group. Anyone from the ages of 50 to 100 (or older!) can get involved.

Call Jane Haskins on 01903 538904 for an informal discussion if you think you would like to join the group.
